Before the YMCA became co-ed in the early 1960s, men and boys swam completely nude. Since nylon was a relatively new invention at that time, it was feared that allowing swimsuits made of cotton or wool in the pool would clog up their filtration system.

I too was around the YMCA long before the change over.... I enjoy swimming naked. I love the freedom and the comfort of being totally naked..Never had any problems being a male nudist at the ymca.. My parents paid for my menbership. and they where all for me swimming naked... I want to go back to the ymca....But i finish my schooling and it was just to far to travel to Seattle... However I got hook on swimming naked and the world of nudity and today I still a senior male nudist...
